> The skin is our largest organ.

> It comprises three layers (epidermis, dermis and hypodermis) which provide immune defence, harbour detoxifying enzymes and antioxidant molecules, control thermoregulation, prevent excessive water loss, allow sensory input and enable endocrine & metabolic mechanisms.

> ​These many functions require a constant flow of energy and nutrients. Adequate nutrition therefore plays a pivotal role in the structure, function and appearance of our skin.

> Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, prioritise non-processed, low-GL sources of carbohydrates and consume sufficient essential fats.
