Vitamin D and Immune Health

 Vitamin D deficiency can increase the risk of autoimmune diseases, including MS and type 1 diabetes. It can also increase the risk of infectious diseases. A 2018 review published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences found that vitamin D can reduce the risk of viral influenza.


A 2011 study published in the Journal of Investigative Medicine found that vitamin D can affect the innate and adaptive immune response, and vitamin D deficiency can increase the risk of infections and autoimmunity. A 2020 study published in JBMR Plus found that vitamin D supplements can improve your immune health.
